Lucas Goes Back
to Back at Florence Motor Speedway! Timmonsville, SC (June
19th, 2010) -- The summer months in South Carolina bring about the chance of
those pop up showers and thunderstorms. Friday Florence Motor Speedway
had one of those storms pop up and wash the track just before practice was
about to begin. After a couple of hours of rain and drying the track we
watched Averitt Lucas go back to back in the Late Model Stock Division.
Lucas had another dominating car this week just like last. Justin
Shorter and Rudy Branham battled hard for the second spot which saw Shorter
get by Branham to take second. Archie Adams Jr. continued his strong
run this year with a third place finish. Kevin Jackson and
Russ Turner Jr. continued there domination of the Stock 4 Cylinder division
Friday night. Both battled hard for the top spot and ran side by side
for numerous laps. In the end Jackson won the battle over Turner Jr.
and took home the victory. Jarrett Smith came home third followed by
Adam Dowling and Dustin Ray. Bobby Schwabenbauer
made a late race pass over Kevin O'Brien in the Shriner Bomber division to
take home the win. O'Brien was second and Jon Ledwell was third. Chris Flowers won
the Super Stock Division over Clint Coker who had engine problems. Corey Weatherford
won the Young Guns division. The Southeast Limited
Late Model Tour makes its debut at the Florence Motor Speedway July 2nd, 3rd
and 4th. Thirty Six cars will start the one hundred lap feature with
over 40 cars expected to show up.
