Lucas Wins Last Points Race of the
Year!
Timmonsville, SC - (November 1st, 2009) - With the 2009
season coming to a close, many teams looked to close out the 2009 season with
a win. That's what Averitt Lucas did Saturday night as he lead all 40 laps
and cruised to a commanding win. Lucas won the pole and dominated all 40
laps. He closest competitor was Archie Adams Jr. in 2nd and Wayne Locklair
3rd. Jamey Lee won his 2nd consecutive track championship. Ricky Locklair started his 10th race of the year
Saturday in the Super Stock division and took home his 10th win of the
season. Locklair had a hard charging Todd Amerson battle him for numerous
laps but Amerson couldn't get around Locklair. Amerson settled for 2nd with
Wayne Locklair 3rd in Jeff Melton's car. In a tough Stock 4 division race, only 2 cars finished
the race. Russ Turner Jr. took home the victory and wrapped up the track
championship. Michael Grooms came home 2nd and Joseph Morris 3rd. Stephen Scott won the Young Guns division race and championship.
Brandon Seals came home 2nd and Dustin Ray 3rd. Bubba Johnson won the Bomber race. William Hutson 2nd
and Bobby Schwabenbauer 3rd. The 10th Annual Fall Classis is next week. Super Trucks,
Late Models, Super Stock, Chargers, Young Guns and Bomber will all be racing.
Super Trucks will be running 50 laps for $1200. Late Models will run 125 laps
for $3000. Super Stock 50 laps for $1000. Chargers 50 laps for $1000. Young
Guns will run 25 laps for $250. Bombers will run Saturday Night for 30 laps
and $500. They will return Sunday for 50 laps and $1000. The Allison Legacy
Car Series will also return to FMS on Saturday November 7th for the 200 lap
Fall Championship race. In all there will be over 500 laps of "Southern
Style" Stock Car Racing Action at the Florence Motor Speedway. Come and experience the excitement of Double-file
